Not maybe, definitely

Nothing too crazy has happened lately! I've just been busy working. I even worked on the 4th of July! Un-American, I know... As a summer student, I only get three days off, and that didn't include Independence Day. Since I am planning on using those three days towards the end of July, I decided to just work this past Monday. I got off a little earlier than usual anyway. I never seem to spend this national holiday in a special or exciting way. I'll have to change that in the future!

A couple of days ago, I was running, and I went a little further than usual along the lake path. I ended up "running into" Fullerton Beach! I was pretty excited (Land ahoy!). I'm going to keep trying to run further and further each time until I can make it to North Ave. Beach and back. Just 'cause ;) Oh yeah, I have no idea how far I am actually running. I should probably look into that...

Today, sometime between when I left the apartment and when I arrived to work, my phone mysteriously shut off, while simply sitting in my backpack. I tried to turn it on, and it refuses to do so, even though it was fully charged when I left the apartment. Needless to say, I am not a happy camper. When I get back to the apartment today, I'll try plugging and seeing what happens. It better work or else [insert relevant, yet unrealistic threat]!!! Why do I have such horrible luck with electronics? I'm like King Midas, except instead of gold, everything I touch dies, and my "power" is limited to electronics (great simile, I know!).

Since I was feeling like such a grump (http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Grumpy), I decided to go get some chocolate (great excuse, right?). I had actually been wanting to try Vosges Haut Chocolate, and it was only a short walk away. Although I don't eat chocolate often, I did used to work at a chocolate store in my hometown, so I enjoy trying different brands/stores. I bought a sample of their milk chocolate bacon (it was shaped like a pig--adorable), and it was really delicious. Sweet and salty--yummy! I also absolutely loved their Aztec Elixir drink (ancho & chipotle chillies + cinnamon + vanilla bean + dark chocolate), as well as their Organic Habana Candy Bar (plantain chips + milk chocolate = amazing). Basically, this chocolate store was pretty fancy! It was expensive, too (I felt like I was in an expensive clothing store!), but I'm really glad I tried it. I especially enjoyed the story/mission behind it, which I read on the back of the candy bar haha. You can find it here, if you're interested: http://www.vosgeschocolate.com/who_we_are

As I'm sitting here in the lab, I see how sunny it is outside, and I can't wait to get out of work soon! I hope this beautiful weather keeps getting better 8)

I leave you with this:
